Hi there! I know I had been incognito last week, to tell you the truth it went by so fast! I hope the same happens this week as My Handsome is away to speak for a Spiritual Emphasis Week at an International School in Korea. I really wish I could have gone with him – but being 8 months pregnant, it wasn’t gonna happen. I did tell him though to look out for some craft supplies for me while he was there… let’s see how he does with that!
On a different topic, I am glad to get to cross off one of the things on my “Before Summer Ends – To Do List“! I got to go on my mini vacation! Victoria, BC is on Vancouver Island – and even though it’s only 1 and a half hours ferry ride away – it still felt like I was a tourist. It was definitely the perfect place for us to get away – no cell phones (because we would have been charged long distance), hardly any wi-fi and no traffic! Here are some pictures to share with you.
Our mode of transporatation- “The Coastal Celebration” on the way to Victoria. It was so neat to walk around the ferry and to see people sun bathing and playing acoustic music – things you could only do on a boat!
First stop? The Comic Book store… there were 3 of them on one block – MH was in comic book heaven. I thought Archie had chosen Veronica last year! But, the pic above said otherwise… he and Betty apparently had twins! Who knew? Everyone is having babies now-a-days eh?
We spent the rest of our time on the island at a youth camp, visiting some of our students who were leaders for the summer. Couldn’t be more proud of them! We also had some colleagues who worked full time at the camp – it was so nice to get to spend some time wit h them and to hear what God had been doing throughout the summer. The flags in the picture represents the different countries that the staff that summer were from.
Day 4 – it was time to go back to home sweet home on the “Queen of Cowichan”. But first a quick stop at Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory for a caramel apple (my fave!!). Our green car JUST made it onto the ferry.
It’s hard to believe that this was a week ago! It felt like yesterday. We hope to do the trip again next year and visit the camp again, but that time, Penny will be joining us 🙂
