New In the Shop: Colorful Agate Necklaces

yellowagate caramelagate blueagate blank and white marble agateSo excited to finally add some new pieces to the shop!  Thanks to a great Christmas craft season, I was able to buy a proper camera lens to take pictures of my creations.  So thank you to all that came out and supported Virukka Gifts, it truly was so much fun getting to talk to you and see what pieces caught your eye and what you selected for gifts for your friends and loved ones.  Now that things have slowed down a bit, I have been able to  get back to customer emails, custom orders and start concentrating on the online shop.

I am a sucker for faceted semi-precious stones, especially ones with a natural pattern.  But what stood out to me about these particular stones were the vibrant colours.  I made these necklaces a mid-length of 20 inches because I wanted them to have a more professional look, yet fun!  I think the gold chain and accents make the colour of the stones stand out a bit more… although I do have one necklace in silver, for those who just aren’t into gold and silver is their go-to, you can find it here.

The Long and Short of It

The long and short of it.  The long ones are probably more popular… but the short ones are my favourite.  I probably wear them at least three times a week.

Starting to prep for our Christmas Craft Fairs coming up… meanwhile, am thoroughly enjoying the beautiful changes that come with fall.  The beautiful colours emerging from the trees, the misty fog, scarf wearing season, and warm drinks in the evenings.

A Change in Colours

I love freshwater pearls, don’t you?  I tend to stick to the cream coloured pearls, but these purple/grey pearls are perfect for the evening.

It has been a hectic summer over here – and kind of a hectic start to fall as well.  I’ll be making some announcements soon.  But for now, this week will be full of making more jewelry for another Blim Market this Sunday.  The last market for the season!  Then I’ll have a little break before the Christmas markets start.

Customer Love all the Way from China!

When my lovely girlfriend who lives in China received her order of jewelry, she sent me these pictures to share with all of you 🙂  I know it’s a little bit hard to see, so make sure to check out the links to see these items in the shop for a better look!  Here she is wearing my Moondrop Necklace, made of freshwater pearls and swarovski crystals.

Here, she is wearing the Spring Precious Stones Necklace which is made of an assortment of semi-precious stones including rose quartz, amazonite and river shells.

And this is her adorable daughter wearing the Chrysanthemum Bobby Pins made of resin.  It says it is out of stock in the shop, but I need to take more pictures of the colours I have available.  All sales from resin jewelry goes to an orphanage in the Philippines called Babyanne’s Mansion (to learn more, click on the link on the menu on the right side of this page!).
